Akim Swedru is a town and the capital of Birim South District, a district in the Eastern Region of south Ghana. Akim Swedru has a 2013 settlement population of 10,379 people. People The people of Akim Swedru belong to the Akyem people. The are one of the groups which make up the Akan people in Ghana. Location To the northwest of Swedru is Aduasa. To the north is a village called Jedem and spanning from northeast to the east is Akim Oda, the district capital. Other towns and villages to the east are Ewisa, Akim Asawaase, Ntutumerim, Anyinam, Aboabo, Asene, Batabe, Manso, Asuboa and Anamasi. To the south are Akyease and Aperade. Geography Akim Swedru is located around a lot of hills, streams and rivers. There are 2 peak rain seasons during May–June and September–October. The relative humidity ranges from 56% during the dry season and 70% during the rainy season. The town lies within a semi- deciduous rainforest region. Birim South District
Birim South District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana, Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger and first Birim South District (with Akim Oda as its capital town) in 1988, which was created from the former Birim District Council, until the western part of the district was split off to create a new Birim South District on 29 February 2008; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Birim Central Municipal District, with Akim Oda as its capital town. However on 15 March 2018, the eastern part of the district was split off to become Achiase District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Birim South District. Akyem
The Akyem are an Akan people. The term Akyem (Akem, Akim or Aki) is used to describe a group of four states: Asante Akyem, Akyem Abuakwa, Akyem Kotoku and Akyem Bosome. These nations are located primarily in the eastern region in south Ghana. The term is also used to describe the general area where the Akyem ethnic group clusters. Akim Oda
Akim Oda is a town in the Eastern Region of south Ghana and is the capital of the Birim Central Municipal District and the traditional capital of Akyem Kotoku. In 2013, Akim Oda had a settlement population of 60,604 people. Geography and climate Akim Oda lies in hilly country of south Ghana with rain forest vegetation in the Birim River basin. The climate of Akim Oda is semi- equatorial and wet with significant precipitation during the rainy season from April to June and again from September to November. Asene
The Asii, Osii, Ossii, Asoi, Asioi, Asini or Aseni were an ancient Indo-European people of Central Asia, during the 2nd and 1st centuries BCE.
